WSU Student-Athletes Excel In The Classroom

May 28, 2004

One hundred forty (140) Wayne State University student-athletes accumulated grade-point averages of 3.0 or better for the recently concluded winter semester.

"The success of our student-athletes in the classroom this term only further underscores a year-long achievement both academically and athletically," states Wayne State University Director of Athletics Rob Fournier. "When you consider the sustained level of academic excellence this year, and our simultaneous rise in the National Athletic Directors' Cup Standings (23rd in the latest poll), it debunks the myth that you cannot do well in school and win championships. The successes of our student-athletes reflect well on the entire university."
