Forty-six (46%) percent of Wayne State student-athletes had over a 3.00 term grade-point average for Winter 2006 with at least 12 academic hours. Sixteen (16) had a perfect 4.00 term gpa.

"The programs that we have put in place to improve our academic performance are reflected in these numbers," said Wayne State University Director of Athletics Rob Fournier. "With 46% of our student-athletes above a 3.0, and the recent graduation rate showing student-athletes completing their degree at an average 17% above the comparable campus population, there is a lot that student-athletes, their families and coaches can take pride in."
