Wayne State University Director of Athletics Rob Fournier and Vice President Harvey Hollins honored the 78 Warrior student-athletes and cheerleaders who recorded at least a 3.50 grade-point average for the Fall 2006 term during the seventh annual WSU Athletic Department Academic Recognition Luncheon held today at Historic St. Andrew's Hall on the WSU campus.
Also recognized were eight Deans' Award winners for having the highest cumulative grade-point average among all student-athletes in that particular college:
* School of Business Administration - Jenni Culbertson, Women's Cross Country
* College of Education - Amanda Pressotto, Women's Tennis
* College of Engineering - Steve Znoy, Men's Fencing
* College of Fine, Performing and Communication Arts - Erika Barczak, Women's Diving
* College of Liberal Arts and Sciences - Alicia Chmielewski, Women's Fencing
* College of Nursing - Lindsey Perry, Softball
* College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences - Lindsey Howard, Women's Fencing
* School of Social Work - Steph Nicolson, Women's Tennis
Also receiving recognition were those student-athletes who graduated in the Fall of 2006 or will graduate next month.
