Wayne State University student-athletes and cheerleaders had another stellar semester in the classroom during the Fall 2007 term.

Fifty-two (52%) percent of Wayne State student-athletes and cheerleaders had over a 3.00 term grade-point average for Fall 2007 with at least 12 academic hours. A WSU record twenty-one (21) student-athletes recorded a 4.00 term gpa.

"The classroom success of our student-athletes this Fall term continues to underscore our focus on the University's primary mission," noted Director of Athletics Rob Fournier. "With over half of our teams achieving an overall mark above 3.00, an overall department average of 2.96 and 52 percent of our student-athletes above a 3.00, the record of achievement is consistent , wide-spread and noteworthy. I applaud the work of our student-athletes, coach and for our student-athlete academic support unit here in the athletic department."
