The Wayne State University Department of Athletics honored the 97 Warrior student-athletes and cheerleaders who recorded at least a 3.50 grade-point average for the Fall 2007 term during its eighth annual Academic Recognition Luncheon held Thursday morning at Historic St. Andrew's on the WSU campus.

Seven Dean's Award winners were also recognized for having the highest cumulative grade-point average among all student-athletes in that particular college:

* School of Business Administration - Ashley King, Women's Hockey

* College of Nursing - Lindsey Perry, Softball

* College of Education - Becky Sonn, Women's Hockey

* College of Engineering - Laura Leix, Women's Swimming & Diving

* College of Liberal Arts and Sciences - Michal Brichacek, Men's Fencing

* School of Fine, Performing, and Communication Arts - Erika Barczak, Women's Swimming & Diving

* School of Pharmacy and Health Sciences - Rachelle Malette, Women's Cross Country
