DETROIT - Wayne State University sophomore goaltender Delayne Brian (Winnipeg, Man./Notre Dame Hounds) and freshman forward Julie Ingratta (Markham, Ont./North American Hockey Academy) were selected as the College Hockey America Defensive Player and Rookie of the Week, respectively, the conference office announced Tuesday afternoon.

Brian backstopped the Warriors to their second sweep of the season last weekend against conference rival Robert Morris University.  She made 24 saves and earned her third shutout of the season in a 1-0 victory on Friday. In Saturday’s come-from-behind 3-2 victory, Brian turned aside 27 shots while allowing just two 5-on-3 power-play markers. Brian had a .962 save percentage and a 1.00 goals-against average versus the Colonials.

Ingratta’s tally in the second period of Saturday’s game tied the score at 2-2, as the Warriors rallied from a two-goal deficit.  She had 10 shots on goal in the series and a plus/minus rating of +1.

This is the third Defensive Player of the Week award of Brian's career and her first this season.  Ingratta is the second Warrior this year to earn a Rookie honor.

Wayne State will travel to Quinnipiac this weekend, Jan. 22-23, for its final non-conference series of the season before returning home Jan. 29-30 to host Syracuse.
