Wayne State University senior pitcher
Casey Hanes (Richmond, Va.) and sophomore outfielder
Alison Allen have been voted to the NFCA (National Fastpitch Coaches Association) All-Midwest Region First Team in a vote of the regional head coaches.
Only eight GLIAC players made the 26 person All-Midwest squads (13 on first team and 13 on second team).
Hanes has set WSU single-season records for games pitched (54), wins (40, breaking her previous school mark of 30), innings pitched (300.2, breaking her previous school record of 274.0), strikeouts (340, besting the mark of 300 set by
Molly Yetman in 2007), and shutouts 18 (eclipsing the previous mark of 14 by Yetman, also in 2007).
Allen has set WSU single-season records for at bats (212) and total bases (128), while ranking second in hits (85).
