The memorable 2010 Wayne State University softball season concluded less than a week ago, and today the NFCA (National Fastpitch Coaches Association) released its
final Division II poll of the season.
WSU set a school record with 52 wins, shattering the previous mark of 43, while also making its second appearance at the D-II College World Series.
Seven of the 10 starters (including designated player) are slated to return for 2011 highlighted by Second Team All-American outfielder
Alison Allen.
The Warriors have four seniors graduating including All-American hurler
Casey Hanes, starting shortstop
Jaci Banton, starting left fielder
Stephanie LeClair, and pitcher/designated player
Nicole Abel, who finished with 300 career strikeouts.
Head coach
Gary Bryce completed his 29th season with 977 victories. Only 16 coaches from all three divisions have reached the 1,000-win plateau.
