Baseball To Host Annual Alumni Weekend

Golf outing and baseball alumni game slated for Sept. 18-19

DETROIT - The Wayne State University baseball program will host its annual Dugout Club Golf Outing and Alumni Game on Sept. 18-19.

The Golf Outing will be held Saturday, Sept. 18, at Sanctuary Lake Golf Course in Troy beginning at 11:30 a.m. Lunch, complimentary range balls, WSU baseball gear and dinner are included along with a shotgun start golf event at 1:00 p.m.

Wayne State University head baseball coach Ryan Kelley and development director (and former WSU baseball student-athlete) Matt Cunningham discussed the upcoming WSU baseball alumni weekend in a July 22 podcast on wsuathletics.com.

Photo galleries from past alumni weekends are also available on the photos section.
Cost for the Golf Outing is $125 per player or $500 for a foursome.  In addition, the baseball program is seeking raffle and auction prizes for this event. All items donated will be tax deductible to the fullest fair market value of the item.

On Sunday, Sept. 19, the Alumni Game will be held at the WSU baseball field in Detroit. Former Tartars and Warriors will have the opportunity to test their skills against the "Green Monster" in left field, as well as catch up with old teammates and see the improved WSU athletic campus. Lunch and batting practice begin at 11:30 a.m. and the game will start at 1:00 p.m.

For more information, including registration and entry forms, download the event flyer or contact Matt Cunningham at (313) 577-0587 or Bill Avery at (248) 980-3442.
