WSU Athletics Supports Pink Fund

Members of Wayne State University athletic teams are currently raising monies through the month of October with all funds being directed to the Pink Fund.  In addition, student-athletes are collecting donations at tomorrow's football game versus Northern Michigan to raffle one pink helmet.  Raffle tickets are available for a one dollar donation with the drawing taking place during the fourth quarter.

Saturday's volleyball match versus Ferris State will be the "Blocking Out Breast Cancer" match supporting the Pink Fund.

The Pink Fund is a Michigan based public charity which provides short term financial aid to breast cancer patients in active treatment.

Many patients find themselves unable to work during treatment due to debilitating and challenging side effects.  Others lose their jobs.

While unable to work, patients often face catastrophic financial losses, including the loss of their health insurance,  home foreclosures, evictions and automobile repossessions.

The Pink Fund  assists patients who due to a breast cancer diagnosis, are unable to work by providing them with limited, yet critical, financial assistance.

The Pink Fund's Financial Bridge program grants individuals with up to 90 days of direct financial assistance to cover non-medical expenses such as insurance, housing, transportation and utilities.

By providing this assistance, The Pink Fund helps to ensure patients can continue treatment, focus on healing and eventually return to work.

It is only through the generosity of donors that The Pink Fund is able to assist patients month to month.  You can Give Help by donating online at www.thepinkfund.org
