DETROIT - The Wayne State University Department of Athletics hosted a tennis alumni reunion on Friday, June 29, welcoming back to campus several people who played for or worked with former WSU men's tennis coach Fred Mulhauser.

The group was treated to a lunch at the new Multipurpose Indoor Facility, one of many new and/or improved facilities which the former Tartars were able to see first-hand.  Director of Athletics Rob Fournier and other WSU staff members joined the alumni as well.

Many of those in Friday's group, including Mulhauser, dedicated tennis courts and have their names emblazoned on the courts as well as on the new outdoor scoreboard.

Mulhauser, who during his five-decade career at WSU was the men's tennis coach for 25 seasons, was inducted into the WSU Athletic Hall of Fame in 1990.
