BAY CITY, Mich. -- Six members of the Wayne State University women's cross country team earned GLIAC All-Academic recognition for the 2013-14 fall semester. Five runners were named to the conference's All-Academic team for having a cumulative grade-point average (GPA) between a 3.0-3.49, while one member received GLIAC All-Academic Excellence honors (cumulative GPA between 3.50-4.0).
Senior
Kayla Gagnon (Riverview, Mich.), a psychology major, was named to the GLIAC All-Academic Excellence team. She earned league All-Academic honors for three seasons.
Five sophomores on the women's cross country squad received GLIAC All-Academic team honors.

Abbey Filip (Jackson, Mich. / Addison),
Brittany Johnson (Oxford, Mich.),
Chelsea Johnson (Oxford, Mich.) and Annie Okonowski (Dearborn, Mich. / Divine Child) all earned All-Academic recognition.
All five were first-time selections since freshmen are not eligible for conference All-Academic honors.
The Warrior women's cross country team won the Detroit Titan Invitational and SIU-Edwardsville Invitational this fall and finished in a tie for fifth out of 15 teams at the GLIAC Cross Country Championships.
