BAY CITY, Mich. -- Three members of the Wayne State University men's tennis team were selected to the All-GLIAC teams, it was announced Tuesday by the league office.
Senior
Thomas Ducret (Paris, France) and junior
Aman Gill (Windsor, Ont. / Assumption College HS) were each named to the All-GLIAC Second Team. Ducret has been named to the All-GLIAC First or Second Team in all four seasons playing tennis for the Warriors. Ducret had a 13-6 singles record split between the No. 2 and No. 3 spots during the season and added 12 more victories playing No. 3 doubles.
Ducret wrapped up his WSU career with 58 singles victories, the third highest total in program history. He finished with 110 victories total combined with 52 doubles triumphs.
Gill has been a All-GLIAC Second Team performer for all three seasons for the Green and Gold. He played both No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles for the Warriors during the season.
Junior
Melvin Joseph (Northville, Mich.) was selected to the All-GLIAC Honorable Mention squad for the second time in his career and first since he was a freshman. Joseph posted a 13-6 mark in singles play across four different flights and went 10-5 playing No. 2 doubles with junior
Michael FitzGerald (Grosse Ile, Mich.).
The Warriors finished their season 13-8 overall, including a 9-2 mark in GLIAC play. WSU earned its most conference victories under fifth-year coach
Bryan Morrow and had the second-best mark in the regular season GLIAC standings.
