Wayne State University student-athletes had another spectacular semester in the classroom during the recently completed Winter 2013 term.
Nineteen (19) student-athletes recorded a perfect 4.00 term gpa with 57.6 percent of Warrior student-athletes receiving above a 3.00 for the semester.
“The academic report is the final evaluative measurement of the term and this accounting is impressive with over 33 percent of our student-athletes having a 3.5 or better GPA,” stated WSU Director of Athletics
Rob Fournier. “Twelve (12) of our 16 teams have a cumulative GPA above a 3.10 and every women's team has a cumulative GPA above a 3.00. That success should be applauded and when that assessment is considered with our graduation rate (expected Fall 2013 Federal publication date) and retention percentage, our coaches and administrative staff can be proud of what these student-athletes have accomplished.”
The 19 student-athletes with a term gpa of 4.00 represent 10 different sports and are noted with an *. Women's cross country led the way with four 4.00s, while football and men's swimming/diving each had three perfect 4.00s. In addition, 59 percent of Warrior student-athletes maintain at least a 3.00 cumulative GPA.
