WSU tennis co-captains Anne Li Briand and Yahsha Moore will be contributing a daily blog to wsuathletics.com as the squad heads to Altamonte Springs, Fla. for the program's first trip to the Sweet 16 at nationals.Second Installment (Evening of May 12th by

This morning (Monday) we left for Florida, and it was very exciting. All of us were excited going to the airport, and excited to see what the rest of the day had in store. We had a connecting flight, so it seemed like a long travel day, but once we got to Florida it was definitely worth it. We had Chipotle when we left the airport, which is always a great meal for me, and then we came to our hotel. The hotel is amazing, and our room keys are so cool. They're decorated NCAA keys for nationals, and we also got bags with "gifts" in them. We got towels, wristbands, water bottles, and everything just seems so surreal.
Today (Monday) was a relaxed traveling day, but we are all just ready to play and give everything we've got. This experience is great, and the feeling is hard to explain, but we're ready to take care of business.

"It is Sunday night and I just finished packing for our Florida trip. I don't know if I will be able to sleep
tonight because I am so excited to leave for nationals. This will be an unforgettable experience that I am excited to share with my team. We will get the chance to compete against the best 15 teams in the nation. We will play our first round
Wednesday morning at 8 a.m. against the second seed and last year's national champions. Playing such a good team is a good opportunity to show what the Warriors are made of and it will also give us a chance to improve our game.
"The journey my team and I have been through to make it to nationals is pretty impressive. My team and I are really proud of our accomplishments this year. Being the first women's tennis team (in program history) to reach the GLIAC championship final was such an honor. When we came to the regional tournament, we had one objective in mind, beat Northwood (No. 1 seed). After beating us earlier this year in the GLIAC championship final, we were ready to get our revenge and beat them. We came that day focused and ready, and we all gave everything we had. Once the match was over it was hard to realize we had won, everything felt like a dream. I couldn't believe we made it to the sweet 16 of nationals. It was such an amazing feeling and I will remember that moment my whole life. My team made history again by being the first team to make it to the sweet 16 that day and I couldn't be more proud to be a Warrior."
