Over the next seven weeks we will be previewing each position on the 2014 Wayne State University football team with each position coach highlighting their respective units.
Jeff Reardon, the quarterbacks coach, is featured in this segment.

On offense, the quarterback position is deep after a season that saw three different signal callers make starts for Wayne State.
Seniors
Doug Griffin and
Sean Guinane, and junior
Carl Roscoe are all again fighting for first-team reps heading into the 2014 campaign.
"Griffin ended up being our offensive MVP last year as a running and passing threat," head coach
Paul Winters said. "Going into last year we had no experience, and now we have three guys with experience. So that makes us feel a little bit better."
Griffin rushed for 456 yards and four scores in 2013, while passing for a pair of touchdowns. Roscoe enters his junior season ranked ninth all-time in completion percentage (48.3/71-147), eighth in passing efficiency rating (110.0) and seventh in average yards per pass attempt (7.4). Guinane passed for 517 yards and two touchdowns last season.
"There's an open competition and we're going to make them all live so that they can compete and do what they do best. The other young man who we expect a lot from is redshirt freshman
Trevor Van Tubbergen, who did very well in the scrimmages last year."
Freshman
Tyler Crowell (Macomb Dakota) has outstanding arm strength and can throw any pass according to Winters. "He is an excellent runner and has the ability to make plays on the run or in the pocket." Senior
Ryan Newcom's availability may be limited due to an injury in the 2014 spring game.
