UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. – The Wayne State University women's indoor track and field squad began its 2015-16 season at the SVSU Holiday Classic hosted by Saginaw Valley State University on Friday.
 
Two different school records were broken and another one was equaled, along with three provisional qualifying marks being set.
 
Additionally, 12 personal bests were also recorded.
 
The three provisional marks were set by sophomore Karrington Seals (Farmington Hills, Mich. / North Farmington) in the 60m hurdles with a winning time of 8.84 in the finals; junior Dazmonique Carr (Lawnside, N.J. / Haddon Heights) finished second in the finals of the 60m dash after recording the best preliminary time of 7.69; and senior Erika Perry (Romeo, Mich.) had a toss of 17.02m (55-10.25) in the weight throw.
 
Sophomore Jessie Kluz (Sterling Heights, Mich. / MMSTC) matched the school record in the long jump at 5.13m (16-10.00).
 
In addition to the school record set by Carr (60m dash), junior Leah Ellis (Battle Creek, Mich. / Central) finished .03 off the school record in the 400m race with a time of 57.25 to place second, while Carr bettered the prior 200m race time with a 25.59 to finish second.
 
Junior Kierra Johnson (Flint, Mich. / Brandon) bettered the previous school record in the 60m dash, while setting a personal best in the 200m race (25.75).

Seals time in the finals of the 60m hurdles was a personal best and missed the school record by .01.
 
Junior Imani Bush (Canton, Ohio / South) notched a personal best in the 200m race (25.92), which made her the third Warrior on the day to better the previous school record.
 
Sophomore Lauren Bohn (Windsor, Ont.) set a personal best in the shot put with a distance of 12.29m (40-04.00).
 
The Warriors will be idle for exams and the holidays with the next competition slated for Jan. 9 at the Hillsdale Winter Opener.
