GLIAC -- Kayla Dulgar (Warsaw, Ohio / River View) of the Wayne State University volleyball team was named GLIAC Setter of the Week for the first time in her career on Monday.
During Wayne State's 2-1 week at the Midwest Region Crossover, Dulgar racked up 135 total assists and 12.3 per set. The freshman finished with 40 or more of them in three-straight matches for the second time this season (Sept. 8-9), including totals of 44, 45 and 46.
"Kayla had a strong performance at her first Midwest Regional Crossover," said Dulgar's head coach
Tim Koth. "I'm happy for her and it's well deserved."
This season, the 5-9 floor general ranks second in the league for both total assists with 707 and and assists per set with 9.8. She's finished a match with at least 30 assists in 14 contests and notched 40 or more in seven outings.
This Friday, Dulgar and her teammates will be home for the first time in nearly a month when they host Northern Michigan at 7 p.m. for Breast Cancer Awareness Night.
