MAKE 2009-10 CONTRIBUTION
WHAT: The Lamplighter Club was designed to help raise both financial funds and support for Wayne State Women's Hockey. Through the Warrior Lamplighter Club, we hope to encourage more people from a diverse audience to follow the Warriors on a more consistent basis. With each goal the Warriors score during the 2010-2011 season, each member of the Lamplighter Club donates their committed amount, with pledge donations being set at a minimum rate of $1/goal.
Please note that the maximum we will charge is for 100 goals/season to ensure a reasonable donation amount (For example, a pledge of $1.00/goal will never equal more than $100.00 US).Those wishing to join the Lamplighter Club by pledging a flat rate, may do so in any amount over $100.00.
WHO: By becoming a member of the Lamplighter Club, you will be contributing directly to the success of the members of the 2010-2011 Warrior Hockey Team. The team has members from across the North American landscape, with Warriors hailing from five provinces in Canada and two American states respectively. As student-athletes at Wayne State, these young women are committed to earning degrees while remaining focused on their goal of achieving athletic excellence.
WHERE: Wayne State is the intellectual hub of Detroit, Michigan. Wayne State is Michigan's only urban research university, fulfilling a unique niche in providing access to a world-class education from the heart of Detroit's Cultural Center. With a student body of over 33,000 students and more than 350 undergraduate and graduate programs, WSU is a catalyst for the region's social, cultural, economic, and educational enrichment.
WHEN: Pledge totals will be tallied at the end of the season, to keep our collection procedure organized and efficient. Moreover, we plan to keep our supporters up to date with information on Warrior Hockey via the Warrior Wrap, our weekly in-season newsletter. WHY: Your support is instrumental in the WSU Women's Hockey Program's continued commitment to achieving excellence in the classroom and on the ice. Through the generosity of our Lamplighter Club Members, our student-athletes are provided with resources to further their pursuit of success. As you commit to the Lamplighter Club the Warriors continue to commit on and off the ice. Over the past three seasons the Warriors have raised the bar continually improving from one season to the next. The 2007-2008 season proved to be the best in program history as the Warriors lit the lamp 124 times and earned the program's first-ever top 10 national ranking. The 2008-09 season was marked by many of our Warriors reaching individual milestones including two players scoring more than 100 career goals and a combined career point total for our top offensive line exceeding 500.
Your tax-deductible contribution goes directly to WSU Women's Hockey and to the promising futures of our student-athletes. Past Lamplighter Club donations have been used to improve our student-athlete experience by developing the Warrior's Video Analysis equipment and capabilities, subsidizing travel costs, and refurbishing the program's locker room amenities to provide a comforting environment for our student-athletes which is competitive with facilities provided by larger Division I athletic departments. All contributions have enabled all of our student-athletes to experience a top rate Division I experience and we thank you for your continued support.
