Allison Tookes begins her 22nd year overall at Wayne State University and sixth as the Associate Director of Athletics and Senior Woman Administrator. Tookes is primarily responsible for overseeing the volleyball, men's golf, men's and women's basketball, men's and women's cross country, and men's and women's tennis and softball programs in the department. Tookes is a member of the WSU Athletic Hall of Fame committee. She also serves on two NCAA Committees - Minority Opportunities and Interests Committee and the NCAA Division II women's tennis regional ranking committee. The 2009-10 academic year will mark her fifth year on each committee. This is Tookes' second stint with the Warriors. From 1979-1991, she coached the men's and women's tennis programs. She was the first woman to coach a male team in the state of Michigan. Tookes also coached tennis at Eastern Michigan from 1992-1996. She received her bachelor's and master's degrees from Michigan State University. Tookes was inducted into the WSU Hall of Fame in 1993. She resides in Ann Arbor, with her husband, Eric, and son, Thomas.
