Courtney Noble, a four-year Wayne State softball letterwinner (1996-99), has been selected for induction into the WSU Athletic Hall of Fame.
Noble, a native of Kalamazoo, was a four-time First Team All-GLIAC selection. She batted .332 as a senior while leading the squad with 12 doubles and three triples.
A two-time Great Lakes Region First Team first baseman, Noble batted .424 as a junior while setting school records for runs scored (47) and walks (24) in a season. The walks total is still a WSU single-season record.
In her sophomore campaign, Noble batted .390 with 17 doubles, 102 total bases and 23 walks. She led the 1996 squad in hitting with a .365 average.
At the time of her graduation, Noble held the school records for career games played (225), doubles (57), total bases (385) and walks (76), while ranking second in runs (156), slugging percentage (.564) and on-base percentage (.447), third in at bats (682), hits (256), batting average (.375) and home runs (18), fourth in runs batted in (119), and fifth in triples (9).
A 1999 WSU graduate with a degree in education, Noble is currently a teacher and coach in the metro-Detroit area.
