Delonda Little, a four-year women's basketball letterwinner, is a member of the 2005 WSU Athletic Hall of Fame class. The 1989 Detroit Osborn High School graduate was a four-year starter at center for the Tartars (1991-95). She averaged over 10 points per game each season throughout her career increasing her average every season. Little started all 26 games during the 1991-92 season and led the team in minutes played (721), field goal percentage (.519) and rebounds (211), while averaging 10.8 points per game. She led WSU in rebounding in 17 of the contests. Despite missing 11 games due to injury as a sophomore, Little still led the squad in field goal percentage, and averaged 6.5 rebounds per contest and 10.9 points per game. She recorded career-highs in points (34) and rebounds (22) in a 91-83 WSU win over Wisconsin-Parkside in the championship game of the Tartar Classic on Nov. 28, 1992. The following year, Little led WSU with an 11.8 points per game average and a 6.6 rebounds per contest, while finishing second with a .504 field goal percentage. During her senior season (1994-95), she helped WSU to a 20-8 overall record and a second-place GLIAC finish with a 13-5 conference mark. Little was named to the All-GLIAC Second Team after averaging 15.5 points per game and 10.1 rebounds per contest. She was also second on the team with 18 blocked shots, while leading the squad with a school-record .591 field goal percentage. In addition to the single-season field goal percentage record, Little holds the game (8-9, .889) and career (419-918, .535) WSU records. She also ranks first in career rebounds (756), sixth in points scored (1,174) and fourth in field goals made (491). Little graduated from Wayne State in 1995 with a bachelor of science degree in criminal justice. She is currently working for the Michigan Department of Corrections as a Probation Officer. She has been with the Michigan Department of Corrections for nearly nine years. She presently resides in Detroit with her husband, Carl Nathan, of almost three years.
