Jeremy Jones was a four-time football letterwinner (2008-11) as a defensive back, who was a two-year All-American.

He finished his Warrior career with 291 tackles (184 solo, 107 assisted), which ranks first among all defensive backs in school history.  He holds the WSU record for career interception return yards (406), while his 17 career interceptions are the most of any WSU player in the last 40 years. His three interception returns for a touchdown is tied for the most in program history in the last 75 years.

Jones is second all-time with 23 pass break-ups and 40 passes defended, while also contributing 24 tackles for loss, two forced fumbles and four fumble recoveries in 46 career games played, including the 2011 national championship game.

Jones was a four-time All-GLIAC performer earning First Team honors in 2010 and 2011, after back-to-back seasons (2008 and 2009) of being an Honorable Mention All-GLIAC recipient.

Jones was voted WSU's Defensive Rookie of the Year in 2008 after finishing fifth on the squad with 63 tackles.  He was selected GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week for his two interceptions at Ferris State, returning the first pick 86 yards for a touchdown.

The following year he notched 54 tackles in 10 games, while starting nine contests.

In his junior campaign, Jones became the first WSU defensive player in program history to earn First Team All-America accolades (Daktronics), while also garnering Honorable Mention All-America recognition from D2Football.com.  He tied an NCAA record with a 100-yard interception return for a touchdown vs. Hillsdale to earn the GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week award.  A couple of weeks later, Jones was selected D2Football.com National Defensive Player of the Week after recording a game-high 13 tackles, two interceptions and a pass break up at Saginaw Valley.  The WSU Defensive MVP, he ranked in the top five in the GLIAC in interceptions (5), interception return yards (124), fumbles recovered (2) and passes defended per game (1.00).

In his final season (2011), he was named an All-American by the AFCA, Associated Press, D2Football.com, Hansen's Football Gazette and Daktronics, in addition to being the GLIAC Defensive Back of the Year.  Jones again earned D2Football.com National Defensive Player of the Week recognition following his game-high 11 tackles, including a sack plus two interceptions in a win over No. 22-Michigan Tech.

In the second-round playoff win at Nebraska-Kearney, Jones had three first half interceptions to break the school record for interception return yards in a game (144).  During the 12-4 season, he led the squad in solo tackles (73), total tackles (106), interceptions (9), interception return yards (196) and quarterback hurries (4).  His nine interceptions led the GLIAC and was tied-for-second in the NCAA.  Jones finished third with 42 tackles just during the playoffs and was tied-for-first with three interceptions.

The Grand Rapids, Mich. native earned his bachelor's degree in Psychology after a brief stint in the NFL with the Chicago Bears.
