Kayla (Scott) Papp was a four-year swimming letterwinner (2011-14), who earned 17 All-American certificates and won seven national titles.
Scott won two individual NCAA titles in the 100 breast (2012 and 2014), while finishing second the other two years. Both years she was the national champion in an NCAA record time.
She was part of five national championship relays (twice each in the 200 free relay and 200 medley relay, and once in the 400 medley relay). The 2014 200 free relay won in an NCAA record time.
Scott swam on 10 relays that finished in the top three at NCAA Championships (five first-place finishes, three second-place finishes, and two third-place finishes).
She was a two-time All-American in the 200 breast, finishing eighth in 2012 and ninth in 2013.
In WSU's national championship year of 2012, Scott was a six-time First Team All-American, while winning four national titles.
In addition to the team national championship in 2012, WSU finished second the other three seasons, and won the GLIAC Championship all four years.
The 2011 GLIAC Freshman of the Year, Scott won 10 conference titles (four individually and six on relays) during her collegiate career.
She won the 100 breast each of her final three seasons after finishing as the runner-up in 2011. Scott had three runner-up finishes in the 200 breast, and placed first, second, third and fourth in the 200 individual medley.
In terms of relays, she won three GLIAC titles in the 200 medley relay, two in the 400 medley relay, and one in the 200 free relay.
Scott became just the eighth WSU student-athlete to be a two-time CoSIDA Academic All-American, earning First Team recognition in both 2013 and 2014.
The three-time GLIAC All-Academic Excellence Team selection (cumulative GPA of at least 3.5), Scott was a two-time GLIAC Commissioner's Award recipient for academic and athletic excellence.
A native of Rochester, Mich. (Adams High School), Scott earned her degree in Psychology and was on the Academic Honor Roll all eight semesters, including six terms above a 3.5. She later earned a master's degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology.
