Nick Allen was a four-time cross country letterwinner (1999, 2000, 2001, 2003) at Wayne State University and a two-time All-American (2001, 2003), the first in WSU cross country history.
A four-time First Team All-GLIAC honoree, he was named GLAC Runner of the Year in both 2001 and 2003 after winning the GLIAC Championship both seasons.
Allen won a total of 11 meets including the 2003 NCAA Great Lakes Regional Championships. He was a four-time All-Region selection.
He earned his First All-America honor by placing 21st at the 2001 NCAA National Championships and, after taking a medical redshirt in 2002, placed 19th at the 2003 NCAA meet.
He led the Warriors to their first team appearance at the national championships.
A 2005 WSU graduate with a degree in electrical engineering, Allen earned his master’s from WSU in Sports Administration in 2008 while also serving as an assistant coach with the cross country squads.
He is currently managing a Running Fit store.
