Parham, a native of Detroit, Mich., lettered three years on the Wayne State women's volleyball team. After three years of competition for the Tartars, Parham finished her career tops in many statistical categories. Parham's biggest accomplishment at Wayne State was being the first woman volleyball player at Wayne to earn American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-American (second team) honors in 1987. In addition, she was named to the AVCA First Team All-Region team in 1986 and 1987. In the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) she was named "Player of the Year" in 1987, named to the GLIAC All-Conference teams in 1985 and 1986, and was also named GLIAC "Player of the Week" once in 1985. Parham also worked hard on her academics, and it showed as she was named to the GLIAC All-Academic team in both 1985 and 1986. A 1988 graduate of Wayne State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education, Parham set many records which still stand today. She set the WSU single season record in kills with 563, attack percentage with a .343 mark, block solos with 85, block assists with 155, and kills per game average with a 4.40 mark. For her career, she finished first in kills with 1,516; service aces with 20; block solos with 185; block assists with 401; total attempts with 3,226; attack percentage with a .332 mark, and kills per game average with a 4.05 mark. Parham is single and currently resides in Detroit.
