Shane Lawal, who played the 2008-09 season as a graduate student at Wayne State University, will be a member of the Orlando Magic Pro Summer League squad which begins play on Sunday (July 7th).

Lawal recorded the only triple-double in school history with 19 points, 11 rebounds and 10 blocks in win over Michigan Tech on Dec. 4, 2008. He finished the year with 71 blocked shots, while averaging 11.7 points per game along with 8.5 rebounds per contest. Lawal earned GLIAC South Division Second Team honors and was also voted to the GLIAC South Division All-Defensive team.
After his lone year with the Warriors, while he worked on his master's degree, Lawal then played in Qatar for Al Arabi followed by time with Brussels in the USA-Eurobasket league. He also saw action for Guadalajara and Clavijo in Spain before spending the past season with Tezenis in Italy.
Lawal, who played his first three seasons of college basketball at Oakland University, averaged over 31 minutes a contest in
2012-13 for Tezenis while scoring 341 points (10.7 ppg) and grabbing 434 rebounds (13.6 rpg) with 58 blocked shots and 62 steals. He was named the League's
Defensive Player of the Year as well as being named to the All-League Second Team. Lawal also earned a spot on the five-man All-Imports Team.
For Clavijo in 2011-12, Lawal averaged 9.1 ppg and 10.6 rpg, while totaling 57 blocked shots and 33 steals. He was limited to 12 games in
2010-11 for Guadalajara and averaged a double-double at 12.9 ppg and 10.8 rpg.
