Freshman Pati Palczynska (Konstancin-Jeziorna, Poland) narrowly missed qualifying for the semifinals but earned Second Team All-America accolades at the NCAA Championships on Friday.  Palczynska compiled a 6-2 mark on Friday and was +19 (37-18) in touches to move into fifth place with a final record of 13-10 (+25 in touches / 95-70).  She lost four bouts by 5-4 scores and with one more victory she would have qualified for the final four.  Palczynska allowed the second fewest touches (70) of any of the 24 participants in the women's sabre competition, while also recording the third best plus/minus rating at +25.
