Sophomore Nastassja Chambers (Ypsilanti, Mich. / Arbor Prep) averaged 18.5 PPG, 5.5 RPG, 2.0 APG and 1.0 SPG as the Warriors went 1-1. WSU became the first regular-season team to have a double-digit lead on Ashland and was the first opponent to break 8-0 points vs. the Eagles. Chambers totaled 19 points, four rebounds and an assist vs. AU, including six points in the opening quarter when Wayne State raced out to a 23-14 lead. In the win at Tiffin, Chambers had a game-high 18 points, along wtih seven rebounds and a team-high three assists. She had nine second-half points, along with four rebounds and two assists as WSU pulled away from a 31-30 halftime advantage.
