Saturday morning, Ransom Allen became the first Wayne State University men's cross country runner to win at the GLIAC Championships since 2003.  Allen finished ahead of 95 other runners to win the eight-kilometer race and did so with a time of 24:19.00, one second better than Grand Valley State's Caleb Futter.  It's Ransom's third victory of this cross country season following triumphs at the Warrior Challenge on September 15 and Roy Griak Invitational on September 22.  He has had more overall wins this season than his previous three seasons combined.  Allen became the first men's GLIAC Runner of the Year for WSU since Nick Allen (no relation) was the winner of the 8K men's race at Katke Golf Course in Big Rapids, Mich. on October 25, 2003, just four days shy of 20 years ago.
