Ludovica Mancini began her postseason run with a strong weekend performance at the Central Collegiate Fencing Conference (CCFC) Championships in Columbus, Ohio. On Saturday in the team competition, the sophomore standout collected a 7-4 record, including a spotless round against a challenging Denison squad. Mancini helped the WSU foilists to a third-place effort in the weapon with an overall 32-22 ledger. On Sunday, Mancini excelled in the individual event - totaling a record of 9-2 within the two pool rounds for a combined +28 touch differential (51-23). That was enough to advance the Warrior to the eight-person direct elimination bracket as the two seed. Mancini defeated Denison's Lai Ertun 15-10 in the Round of 8, before handling Northwestern's Rowan Park 15-12 in the semifinals. The sophomore finished runner-up for the category, which was the best finishing result by any WSU women's fencer on the final day of the conference championships.
