Kayla Giroux hit .420 in Wayne State's two home matches, a thrilling five-set loss to No. 16 Grand Valley State and sweep of new GLIAC member Roosevelt. Giroux opened the week against GVSU with a career high in both kills (23) and total attacks (43). That match, the junior notched just five errors for a .419 hitting percentage to go with six total blocks, five digs and an assist. Then on Friday against RU, Giroux went for 13 kills and just two errors on 26 swings for an efficient .423 clip as well as another assist, one dig and two stuffs. On the season, the Flat Rock, Mich. native leads the GLIAC and ranks 11th nationally in hitting percentage at .426.
