Anais Ruyssen (Nantes, France / Enfants-Nantais [Keiser]) of women's tennis was named GLIAC Player of the Year on Friday. The graduate student helped WSU to a 4-0 win over Saginaw Valley State in the second round of the tournament, posting a 7-5 victory in the No. 1 doubles position with her partner, Dea Gorgidze (Tbilisi, Georgia Tbilisi Public School N145 [Western Michigan]). In the championship match, Ruyssen triumphed twice with a 6-1 win in doubles and a 6-2, 6-1 victory in singles during the team's 4-3 setback against Grand Valley State.
