Kayla Giroux (Flat Rock, Mich.) had another brilliant two-match stretch on the court as she hit .324 with 31 kills and just nine errors on 68 total attacks.  Of those 31 kills, 21 (two off career high) came at No. 18 Grand Valley State on Thursday with a season-best 45 attempts and .356 hitting percentage.  That upset victory on the Lakers' home floor also marked the following:

• Wayne State's first true-road win over a top-25 opponent since Oct. 7, 2017.
• WSU's first victory over a ranked foe regardless of venue since Aug. 25, 2018.
• The Warriors' first win against Grand Valley State since 2022 (four-match skid).
• The programs' second straight five-set victory, something that hadn't happened since September of 2022.
