Mahmoud Elsayed (Tanta, Gharbia, Egypt) helped the men's fencing squad to a second-place team finish at the 2026 Central Collegiate Fencing Conference (CCFC) Championships on Saturday, February 21. The sophomore tallied a 10-1 ledger during bouts on Saturday, aiding the men's epee team to a third-place finish. During the individual portion of the event, the WSU student-athlete posted an 11-1 ledger in pool play to earn the No. 2 seed in direct elimination. In DE, Elsayed earned a 15-6 win in the table of eight, a 15-11 triumph in the semfinals, and a 15-7 victory over top-seeded Jakob Stange (Ohio State) in the finals to finish first individually in men's epee for the second-consecutive season.
