Wayne State freshman defender Ellie Whalen helped the women's soccer program win twice last weekend with a 4-0 victory over Ohio Dominican in the home opener on Friday followed by a 2-0 triumph at Madonna on Sunday morning.

Whalen scored the first goal in Friday's win over Ohio Dominican off a corner kick from Kate Carrico.  It was Whalen's first collegiate goal.

She helped lead the Warrior defense to back-to-back shutouts, allowing just two shots on goal to ODU and five SOG at Madonna on Sunday.

The Wayne State Warriors have outscored their opponents 9-0 in the four matches this season.
