WSU Tennis Courts

The original tennis courts have been behind the Matthaei Physical Education Center since the building was built. The courts (south twelve) were re-surfaced in 2007 and again in 2012. An additional twelve (12) courts, north of the current configuration were removed in order to accommodate the new multipurpose building. A brick facade and individually displayed tennis scoreboard was added in 2011 and has created court-naming opportunities for alumni.

The outdoor tennis courts were once again re-done in the Fall of 2023 to allow the men's and women's tennis teams to be able to host home matches either outdoors or indoors. Two outdoor courts were removed to make way for four new pickleball courts. The courts were ready for the spring 2024 men's and women's tennis seasons. The outdoor scoreboard was also updated shortly after, new seating areas for spectators were installed and in September of 2024, Wayne State themed wind screens were added to the fences.
