HILLSDALE, Mich. - The Wayne State University volleyball team (5-7, 4-4 GLIAC) dropped a
three-set decision at No. 11 Hillsdale College (11-2, 8-1 GLIAC) on Friday night at Jesse Philips Arena.
The Chargers swept the match by scores of 25-21, 25-14 and 25-12, earning their ninth shutout victory of the season. Meanwhile, the Warriors have lost three straight just after a four-match winning streak which ended last weekend.
Nicole Arends (Ravenna, Mich.) led the WSU offense with nine kills and a .571 hitting percentage.
Madie Kent (Grosse Pointe Woods, Mich./Grosse Pointe North) contributed seven kills and a team-best 12 digs.
Hillsdale out-hit Wayne State, .298 to .086, and collected 10 service aces with 11 total team blocks. Lauren Grover hit .692 with 10 kills and six blocks for the Chargers.
Wayne State will host Findlay at 2:00 p.m. tomorrow for Kids Day at the Matthaei. Admission is free to kids wearing their team/group uniform or a WSU volleyball camp t-shirt. A meet and greet with the Warriors will follow the match.
