Box Score
Detroit - The Wayne State women's tennis team (9-1, 9-1 GLIAC) took home its second straight 9-0 victory in as many days as Saginaw Valley State (6-5, 6-5 GLIAC) became the newest victim of these Warriors. The cold temperatures forced this match indoors to the Eastside Racquet Club in Detroit but the change of venue did nothing to rattle the ladies this morning.
Julia Kamenko (Thornhill, Ont. / Vaughan S.S.) and
Alex Poissant (Laval, Que. / Vanier Prep) had the lone close doubles match as it took a 7-2 tiebreak victory to take the final doubles point and give the Warriors a commanding 3-0 lead.
Yahsha Moore (West Bloomfield, Mich. / West Bloomfield) and
Anne Li Briand (Repentigny, Que. / École Secondaire Félix-Leclerc) stretched their doubles winning streak to seven with an 8-4 win Saturday morning.
The ball had begun to roll for the Warriors as they continued to sweep the singles matches by a dominating 73-21 total across the six matches.
The lady Warriors look to keep things going as they take on Michigan Tech Sunday at 10:00 AM at the Eastside Racquet Club.
