Warriors fall to Division I Eastern Michigan.

Boxscore

Ypsilanti, Mich. - The Wayne State women's basketball team found some magic last Friday night with a win at Division I Western Michigan, Tuesday's match-up at Eastern Michigan would not leave the Warriors as fortunate. WSU dropped a 77-57 contest to the Eagles who were celebrating last year's Mid American Conference title before tip.

The game started out at a feverish pace and the Eagles looked to make WSU run the floor. Back-to-back layups by freshman Kristen Long (Corunna, Mich. / Durand) knotted things up at eight as the Warriors appeared to weather the early storm.

A quick 17-5 run by Eastern Michigan blew this one wide open though and the Warriors would trail 45-30 at the break. Freshman Brittany Streetman (Warren, Mich. / Lincoln) led the Warriors at the intermission with nine points on four of five shooting including one triple.

The second half played much closer with the Warriors only falling behind by five more points to head home with a 77-57 defeat in their final exhibition contest of the year. Long led the way for the Warriors with 11 points while Juanita Cochran (Saginaw, Mich. / Arthur Hill (Stony Brook), Talisha Bridges (Kalamazoo, Mich. / Loy Norrix (Stony Brook) and Streetman all finished with nine for WSU.

The Green and Gold have some time off before tipping off their regular season at home against Lewis on November 17th.
