LAKE ERIE RECAP
During a rainy first half at Jack Britt Stadium, the Warriors had three turnovers including a 1-for-3 performance in the red zone leading to a 21-point halftime deficit. The host Storm went 87 yards on their opening drive with quarterback Brendan Gallagher scoring on a five-yard keeper on the eighth play of the drive.
  Â
Later in the first period, the WSU defense recorded back-to-back sacks forcing a punt, which
Michael Johnson returned to the LEC 35. Five straight runs by
Toney Davis capped off a 2:17 scoring drive with a two-yard run for his first rushing touchdown of the season. Â
  Â
Earlier in the stanza, Davis moved into ninth place on the WSU all-time total offense chart passing quarterback Dan Gray (2000-02). After the Wayne State defense forced a three-and-out and a 20-yard punt, the Warriors took over at the Storm 35. Five consecutive carries by
Desmond Martin led to a fourth-and-one at the LEC 8. Back-up quarterback
Doug Griffin gained enough yardage for a first down but was hit and fumbled with Isaiah Bell returning the loose ball 97 yards giving the hosts a 14-7 advantage.
  Â
An interception by WSU preceded the teams trading punts and led to good field position for Lake Erie at the Warrior 33. Two runs by Anthony Bilal covered the 33 yards giving the Storm a 21-7 lead near the mid-point of the second quarter.
  Â
Later in the second period following a WSU punt by
Stefan Terleckyj, LEC drove 56 yards in seven plays with Bilal scoring on an 18-yard run with 1:06 left before intermission.
  Â
WSU took the second half kickoff and consumed 6:18 going 53 yards in 13 plays leading to a 37-yard Terleckyj field goal. It was Terleckyj's 34th career field goal snapping a first-place tie with David Chudzinski (2005-08).
  Â
Lake Erie scored a touchdown on the ensuing drive converting two fourth-down plays.
  Â
The only points of the fourth quarter was a three-yard run by Martin, for his second rushing touchdown of the season.
  Â
Bilal finished with a game-high 138 yards and two touchdowns to lead LEC. Davis compiled 97 yards, with Martin contributing 68 yards. Each Warrior tailback scored once.
  Â
Carl Roscoe was 3-of-17 for 39 yards with one interception.Â
Sean Guinane directed a couple of fourth quarter series completing 1-of-3 for 14 yards with an interception.Â

Michael Johnson each had two receptions for the Warriors.
