HILLSDALE, Mich. -- The Wayne State University volleyball team (7-10, 3-5 GLIAC) fell in three sets at Hillsdale (13-2, 7-1 GLIAC) on Friday night. The Chargers are tied atop the South Division after recording set victories of 26-24, 25-10, 25-17.
HOW IT HAPPENED- After a Hillsdale attack error, WSU led 6-5 to begin the opening set. A kill from
Mikayla Shell (Croswell, Mich. / Croswell-Lexington) kept the Warriors on top, 11-10. The Chargers went on a 4-1 run to take a 17-14 lead and force a WSU timeout. A kill from
Emily Norscia (Livonia, Mich. / Livonia Churchill) and a HC attack error tied the set at 24-24. However, the Chargers took the final two points to win the game, 26-24.
- Hillsdale led 6-0 to begin the second set and force
Tim Koth to burn an early timeout. Later in the set, the Chargers went on a 6-0 run to extend their lead to 12-2. HC controlled the rest of the game to take a 2-0 match lead with a 25-10 victory.
- The Green & Gold led 4-3 lead after a HC attack error in the third set. The home team regained control and led 12-6 after a service ace. The Chargers went on a 6-0 run to win the race to 20 and led 20-12. WSU completed the sweep with a 25-17 victory.
LEADING THE WARRIORS-
Hannah Moore (Louisvile, Ky. / Assumption) led WSU with 12 kills on 37 swings. Norscia finished with 11 kills.

Brittany Guldan (West Bloomfield, Mich. / Walled Lake Central) tallied 17 assists.

Ellie Rodriguez (Grand Rapids, Mich. / Catholic Central) posted a 16-dig performance.
