COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The Wayne State University men's basketball team (2-11 overall, 2-8 GLIAC) fell 88-64 at Ohio Dominican University (6-10 overall, 3-7 GLIAC) Saturday afternoon at Alumni Hall. Junior
Michael Lewis (Ann Arbor, Mich. / Huron) led the Warriors by recording his third career double-double with 19 points and 10 rebounds.
HOW IT HAPPENED- WSU went on an early 7-5 run with a triple from Lewis and lay-ups from sophomores
George Spencer (Detroit, Mich. / Belleville) and
Ronald Booth (Detroit, Mich. / Consortium). The Panthers answered to take the one-point lead (8-7) after a three from Michael Simon. Sophomore
Tristan Wilson (Ann Arbor, Mich. / Skyline) put Wayne State back up by one (9-8) with a dunk at the 13:14 mark in the first period.
- Ohio Dominican sparked its offense and connected on five shots during a 12-5 run for a 20-14 lead after 10 minutes of play. Adam Cytlak started the scoring spree with a triple, while Simon ended the run with a basket from behind the arc.

Clark Bishop (Detroit, Mich. / Renaissance) trimmed the ODU lead to four (26-22) at the 8:07 mark of the first half with a jumper.
- The Panthers increased their lead to seven (37-30) off a lay-up from Trent Weaver just before intermission.
- In the first seven minutes of the second half, Ohio Dominican went on a 20-7 run for a 22-point lead (59-37). Mike DeLeon began the scoring spree with a lay-up after just 10 seconds into the period, and Weaver ended the run with an old-fashioned three-point play.
- The Warriors pulled within 15 (66-51) after a lay-up by Lewis at the 8:42 mark of the second half. The Panthers answered with an 8-4 run to lead by 19 (74-55) with 5:04 left in the contest.
- ODU took its largest lead of the contest at the 2:44 mark of the second half. DeLeon hit the jumper to put the Panthers up by 25 (84-59). Lewis drained a triple and Spencer connected on two free throws to trim the ODU lead to 20 (84-64).
WARRIOR PLAYER STATS- Along with Lewis, Booth also scored 19 points and dished out three assists, while Bishop added 12 points and tallied two helpers.
TEAM STATS- ODU outshot the Warriors by 14.2 percent from the field. The Panthers made 30-of-52 (57.7 percent), while Wayne State connected on 24-of-53 (45.3 percent).
- Ohio Dominican drained 10-of 22 (45.5. percent) triple tries, while Wayne State made 35 percent (5-of-14) beyond the arc.
- The Warriors went 11-for-12 (92 percent) from the charity stripe, including 6-for-6 from Lewis, while the Panthers made 18-of-25 (72 percent).
LEADING THE OPPOSITION- Five Panthers scored in double figures with Weaver tallying 19 points and Ronnie Williams adding 15 points. Simon totaled 14 points, including connecting on all four three-point attempts, while Ben Casanova and Chad Nelson contributed 11 points and 10 points, respectively.
- Weaver pulled down eight rebounds, while Shemar Waugh dished out a team-high five helpers.
