DETROIT -- The Wayne State University women's tennis squad (12-4 overall, 8-3 GLIAC) swept 11th-ranked NAIA opponent, Northwestern Ohio, 9-0 on Friday evening inside the WSU Multipurpose Indoor Facility. Seniors
Julia Kamenko (Toronto, Ont.) and
Alex Poissant (Laval, Que.) were honored before the match for their four years as a Warrior.
DOUBLES RESULTS- Kamenko and Poissant topped Raquel Marques and Melena Lopez, 8-2, at the second doubles flight, while freshmen
Liv Peisachovitz (Vaughan, Ont.) and
Dasha Kuznetsova (Moscow, Russia) beat Vladca Djurdjevic and Kate Bondarenko, 8-4, at No. 1 doubles.
- Sophomore
Liz Ghellere (Ararangua, Brazil) and junior
Ashley Walker (Canton, Mich. / Salem) won, 8-3, over Valeria Popka and Xiomara Aguilar at the third doubles position.
SINGLES RESULTS- Poissant bested Djurdjevic in a super tiebreaker, 10-5 (6-2, 5-7) at the first singles flight, while Peisachovitz won, 6-2, 6-2, in two sets over Lopez at No. 2 singles.
- Kuznetsova topped Popko (6-0, 7-5) at the fifth singles position, and Kamenko beat Bondarenko, 6-3, 6-2, at No. 3 singles.

Astrid Ciellza (Tecumseh, Ont.) defeated Aguilar, 6-2, 7-6 (7-5), at the sixth singles flight, while Ghellere won in a super tie breaker, 10-5 (6-4, 4-6), at the fourth singles position.
UP NEXT- Wayne State will travel to Florida for Spring Break to compete in five matches. WSU will take on Stonehill College on March 10 at 11:30 a.m. in Winter Park, Fla.
