AKRON, Ohio -- The Wayne State University women's tennis team (11-10 overall) was beaten by Indiana University of Pennsylvania (12-4 overall), 8-1 Saturday afternoon at the Towpath Tennis Center in Akron, Ohio.
SINGLES RESULTS
- Dasha Kuznetsova (Moscow, Russia) (0-6, 6-7 (6-8)), and Liz Ghellere (Ararangua, Brazil) (2-6, 4-6) lost their No. 1 and No. 2 singles matches, respectively.
- Julia Walz (Rastatt, Germany) (5-7, 3-6), and Lauren Hughes (Detroit, Mich. / Southfield) (2-6, 3-6) lost to Indiana University of Pennsylvania's No. 3 and No. 4 singles players, respectively.
- Astrid Ciellza (Tecumseh, Ont.) (2-6, 3-6) and Ashley Walker (Canton, Mich. / Salem) (3-6, 2-6) were defeated by the Crimson Hawks No. 5 and No. 6 singles players.
DOUBLES RESULTS
- The duo of Kuznetsova and Ghellere were the only victorious Warriors doubles team, as they defeat the Crimson Hawks No. 1 doubles team 8-3.
- Hughes and Walker were beaten in their No. 2 singles match 4-8.
- Ciellza and Walz were defeated 2-8 by the Crimson Hawks No. 3 doubles team.
