Warriors head north with a six-game winning streak.

CLERMONT, Fla. – The Wayne State University softball team (13-6 overall) concluded its spring break trip with a pair of victories on Saturday.  The Warriors finished with a 12-2 mark after blanking 20th-ranked Southern New Hampshire (17-2 overall) 14-0 in five innings, then rallying to defeat Lock Haven (7-9 overall) 4-2 in eight innings.

Senior Kylee Barrett (Croswell, Mich. / Croswell-Lexington) singled to start the second, and moved to second on a sacrifice bunt by sophomore Emma Adams (Rockwood, Ont.).  After a Penmen error scored one run, Turkalj doubled in Lucas, and McClounie smacked a two-run double increasing WSU's lead to 8-0.

Wayne State added two more runs in the bottom of the third as junior Ashley Messina (Troy, Mich.) had a leadoff single with Adams lacing an RBI triple down the right field line.  Adams later scored on a sacrifice fly by freshman Rainey Psenicka (Guelph, Ont.).

The Warriors concluded the scoring with a four-run fourth.  McClounie singled as did pinch-hitter Rachelle Clayton (Guelph, Ont.).  After a fielder's choice and an SNHU miscue loaded the bases, Adams had an RBI single.  With two outs, Psenicka doubled in a pair and Turkalj followed with had an RBI single.
