10th Annual Trammell/Parrish Baseball Camp Set for Dec. 7-8

DETROIT -- Alan Trammell and Lance Parrish will host their 10th Annual Baseball Camp at Wayne State University on Dec. 7-8, inside the Matthaei and Doris J. & Donald L. Duchene, Sr. Athletic Facilities.  For the fourth consecutive year, the camp will feature a second day and will specialize in shortstop play and catching. 

Trammell and Parrish will conduct the Fundamentals Camp (Grades 2-12) on Saturday, Dec. 7 from 9 a.m. to noon and the Advanced Hitting Camp (Grades 2-12) from 1:30 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. Trammell and Parrish will join the entire WSU Baseball program including coaching staff, student-athletes and support staff to serve as camp instructors.


"We have reached an exciting 10th anniversary with this camp experience and are thrilled to welcome participants for another baseball developmental weekend!" said head coach Ryan Kelley.  "This presents a unique opportunity to interact and learn with two of the all-time great shortstops and catchers within the history of our game.  The enthusiasm and motivation that is displayed annually by Alan Trammell and Lance Parrish to give back to the next generation of baseball is genuine.  Our program and I would like to thank them and WSU Alum Mr. S. Gary Spicer, Sr. for their continued commitment with this camp experience. The event is a definite foundation for baseball education and development for participants."

All four camps with be focusing on education, implementation, repetition and evaluation.  Players will get a high-volume of reps in a fun and energetic atmosphere.

Benefits with the Saturday morning Fundamentals Camp include learning baseball concepts as well participating in college and professional level drills.  Emphasis will be placed on all aspects of the game including infield, outfield, pitching/catching, hitting, base running and more.

Saturday's afternoon Advanced Hitting session will feature higher-level tools to enhance your success with a focus on what it takes to perform offensively at the next level.  Focus will be placed on skill development in the batters box, on the bases, and the mental concepts of hitting.  Speed & agility drill sets, strength & conditioning education, with showcase drills for secondary level participants.

Saturday's morning and afternoon events are open to grades 2-12 and costs $100 per person per session.  There is a $180 price point for those who attend both Saturday sessions.  Registration can be completed online, in person, or by mail.

The schedule on Sunday, Dec. 8 features an Alan Trammell Shortstop Camp from 9 a.m. to noon.  The clinic will be open for grades 8-12.  Alan Trammell will lead this advanced shortstop specific camp with detailed instruction, drill sets, training and a philosophy geared at shortstop development. If you are looking to improve at the position and lead your team as a shortstop in 2020 this is the camp for you!  The cost is $125.

The second half of Sunday will switch the focus to the catching position.  The Lance Parrish Catching Camp will be from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.  Parrish will direct this detailed catching camp to assist with your progression behind the plate. This camp will prove to be the ultimate off-season preparation for your catching development.  An advanced series of catching drills, position education, training and a winning mentality will be delivered from the former perennial All-Star Major League catcher.  This portion of the clinic is also open to grades 8-12 and the cost is $125.  The camp is open to any participants within the age range.
