Men's Tennis Edged 4-3 By Northwestern Ohio

Men's Tennis will host Hillsdale on Feb. 21.

CLINTON TWP, Mich. – The Wayne State University men's tennis team (0-1 overall) lost its first match of the season against the University Northwestern Ohio (1-0 overall) on Friday afternoon at the Peachtree Tennis Club.
 
DOUBLES
Junior David Solar (Prague, Czech Republic) and freshman Joe Steele (Beverly Hills, Mich.) went first at No.3 doubles but lost 6-3.

Freshman Daniel Grey (Wiesbaden, Germany) and junior Donovan Nguyen (Shelby Township, Mich. / Utica) won at second doubles 7-5.

Sophomore Dom Spicer (London, England) and sophomore Luke Laws (Sunderland, England) won 7-5 at No. 1 doubles match.
 
SINGLES
The sixth flight of singles was first to finish and Steele fell 6-4, 7-5.

Solar lost 6-2, 7-6 (1) at No. 2 singles, while Spicer lost 6-3, 3-6, 7-5 at first singles.

Sophomore Ryan Okonski (Stevensville, Mich. / St. Joseph) dropped a 6-1, 7-6 (3) decision at No. 5 singles.

Grey won his match at third singles 7-6 (4), 4-6, 6-3.

Nguyen won at No. 4 singles 6-1, 4-6, 6-3.
