GLIAC -- Senior forward Ray Williams, Jr. (Detroit, Mich. / Edison Public School Academy) of the Wayne State University men's basketball team was named GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week for the second time in as many weeks on Monday.

Saturday at Tiffin, Williams helped lead Wayne State to a fourth straight win (first time since 2020-21 season) and first road victory of the season, 74-69.  The 6-4 senior finished with 14 points (5-of-8 FG), seven rebounds, two blocks, one steal and an assist in a game-high 38 minutes.

Williams and his teammates (4-2 overall record) begin GLIAC play on Thursday at Northern Michigan with the opening tip in Marquette scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
