KODAK, Tenn. -- The Wayne State University baseball team dropped its 2023 season opener to Hillsdale on Saturday by a score of 11-0. The Warriors and Chargers will play games two and three of the series on Sunday with the first pitches scheduled for 12 p.m. and 4 p.m., respectively.
Hillsdale scored two runs in the first, one in the second, three in the third, another in the fourth, one in the seventh, and three in the eighth. For Wayne State,
Noah Miller (Macomb, Mich. / University Liggett) led the way with two hits in his five at-bats while
CJ Maury (Brampton, Ont. / Mayfield SS),
Tony Hatzigeorgiou (Oxford, Mich. / Oxford) and
Mason McGuire (Lyon Twp., Mich. / Brighton) each registered a hit as well.
Ryan Korolden (Yale, Mich. / Yale) suffered the loss after four innings pitched before
Kaden Stively (Washington, Mich. / Romeo) provided three innings of relief and
Cam Rosen (Ann Arbor, Mich. / Dexter) finished the game for WSU.
